Jay Jay Make Up School Sydney is a new boutique style school that specialises in teaching the makeup application basics, including colour mixing, facial correction, application techniques, creative makeup looks, client consultation and business advice for individuals wanting to take the first step towards a career in makeup.
After completing a Certificate IV (4) in Teaching and Assessment, Jay Jay Rauwenhoff (pictured) recently launched the Jay Jay Make Up School Sydney where she is the principle teacher dedicated to educating aspiring professional makeup artists. With over 20 years experience as a qualified international hair and makeup artist, Rauwenhoff boasts an impressive CV of international clients within Australia, Indonesia, China, USA, United Arab Emirates, The Netherlands, France and the UK.
“My motivation for launching [the school] is a result of being asked my expert advice many times on how to create looks or techniques that I was taught 20 years ago at the Christian Chauvauz School in Paris. My teaching mantra is ‘Less is more and blend, blend, blend’! My advice for makeup artists is using a variety of make-up products to create great textures which makes it easier to apply products to any skin tone. I’m value the importance of teaching a number of makeup techniques to suit each client’s requirements, so there will be a diverse range of makeup techniques and styles taught at the Jay Jay Make Up School Sydney,” Rauwenhoff said.
The school teaches the Certificate II (2) in Apply and Design Makeup (WBRFS202B) over a six-week course of three hours per week. Upon completion of the course, students receive a Statement of Attainment that entitles them to design and apply makeup professionally.
Classes are conducted at the Horizon Apartments 7/184 Forbes Street, Darlinghurst and the first course date is scheduled on Sunday 9th August 2009. The course will be conducted weekly on Sunday afternoons, Monday and Tuesday nights for six weeks.
