The Australasian College Broadway (the College) has opened a new Modelling Faculty offering four courses that not only target aspiring models, but also students that are about to enter the workforce, or professionals wanting to enhance their confidence and presentation skills.
The Modelling Faculty will offer four courses. The first is a Certificate II in Modelling, which will prepare aspiring models for the requirements needed to get by in a highly competitive industry.
Beyond the Catwalk…Modelling Snapshot, will be a short course to give existing and aspiring models the edge in the casting environment. It covers basics such as casting, walking, posing, nutrition and confidence. This will be a great taster for the longer Certificate course.
Shine, is a short course that’s been designed to encourage self esteem, confidence, communication and grooming in young people aged between 15 and 18. In a fun and inclusive learning environment, students are taught how to shine and present themselves in the best light. This is an excellent course for developing communication skills and presentation skills for interviews when looking at furthering a career or education.
Finally Shine Plus, is a short program for those who are 18+ seeking to enhance their own natural ability and gain poise in challenging situations. Shine Plus is designed to give participants an edge in a competitive market and build their confidence. There is a focus on public speaking, and this course is perfect for those who are either entering, or are at the start of their professional career.
Chairman and Founding Director of Australasian College Broadway, Maureen Houssein-Mustafa OAM, said the Modelling Faculty is about educating individuals in confidently speaking in public situations, sharpening their presentation skills, posture and poise, and will give them an edge above other candidates in the market. The Modelling specific courses teach further skills in media performance, photographic work, print, catwalk, TV and advertising campaigns.
“Whether you are a young student about to enter the workforce and feeling unprepared for an office environment, a business executive wanting to improve presentation skills to move up the corporate ladder, or an aspiring model trying to gain skills across the board, these courses are an essential,” Ms. Houssein-Mustafa said.
Head of the Modelling Faculty and Industry Model Julianna Preston said the new courses will broaden the skill base on anyone’s resume, giving them confidence and grooming skills that will be invaluable in any chosen career.
Modelling Industry leader and Head of BGM Models Darrianne Donnelley who had been involved in the development of the courses from an industry perspective said, “These courses are there to improve soon to be professionals or current professionals for the at times domineering world that requires confidence in presentations.
“For the first time, models are now able to learn new survival skills vital to their industry. Having this background will put them miles ahead of the competition when they audition at go-sees or castings. If they want to kick start their career professionally, this is a brilliant option to explore.”
The courses run from two-day weekend courses up to 16 weeks. Flexible payment options are also available.
