In stylish, safari-style splendour, Roopa Pemmaraju’s collection hit the runway at MBFWA this week with models adorning O.P.I styled nails and Bobbi Brown makeup.
Intriguing and enchanting, the collection saw bold, bright, geometric and leopard prints in a nod to Africa and tropical climes. Loose flowing, light and silky garments adorned silhouettes in array of beautiful styles with different colours and patterns.
Alphie Sadsad headed the Bobbi Brown makeup team and said of the look:
“Today is all about making skin look like skin and a lot of colour around the eye area, focusing on one particular colour. We have three colours that we are going through, we have a coral for bright lips, blue or yellow for the eyes. All 18 models either have bright lips or bright eyes.
“It’s all about being really natural with a pop of colour, using Roopa’s fabrics as inspiration. The technique we are focusing on is brush strokes. It all looks brushed on instead of being well-blended. It’s a great everyday look that focuses on either lips or eyes.
“Who’s the Roopa girl this season? Well she is all about being really natural and Australian. She’s really laidback, just like all of Roopa’s designs. They are quite relaxed, and that is what Bobbi’s customers are all about as well. Making it very minimalist.”
The nails complemented the eyeshades with either vibrant orange, OPI’s In My Back Pocket or No Room For the Blues, a vibrant blue in matte. The models wore Don’t Pretzel My Buttons using OPI’s Matte Top Coat on their toes, which looked great against the beaded and embellished colourful sandals they were wearing.
