Cosmeceutical skincare brand SkinCeuticals hosted a lavish lunch for selected media on Monday. The event, held at waterfront venue 12-Micron along Sydney’s Barangaroo, was hosted by L’Oreal’s Teresa Love. SkinCeuticals is highly regarded for its scientifically-backed formulations utilised by skin physicians internationally.
Attended by a guest list of beauty editors, the brand needed little introduction, opting to use the opportunity to reconnect face-to-face after a second year of Sydney lockdowns. Champagne and wine were served on arrival before guests took their seats at the table. On display was a three product line-up of the brand’s best-selling Prevent serums: Phloretin CF, the recently launched Silymarin CF and editor favourite, C E Ferulic, neighbouring rows of white orchids.
Guests enjoyed a three-course lunch, accompanied by a Q&A session by Teresa with special guest and author Donna McGeorge during which topics like productivity, work-life balance and goal-setting were discussed. After a gruelling year of Sydney lockdowns, which for many in media felt like all work and no play, Donna’s perspective provided inspiration and motivation to start the new year with better practices in place.
Her book, The 1 Day Refund was inspired by the COVID-19 lockdowns (in which Australians arguably gained ten hours back a week with time saved on public transport) – she noticed that for most, rather than spending more time with family and friends or indulging in hobbies, we simply worked longer hours. Her talk emphasized the importance of effective time management in creating spaces of “inactivity” where creativity flourishes.
At the completion of the event, guests were treated to a gift bag containing a SkinCeuticals skincare set, a bottle of Moet, Maison Balzac champagne flutes and a copy of Donna’s book (the perfect trio for an “inactive” evening in the tub!)
