Shortcuts Software, powered by Givex, has launched GiftME, a gift card software for salons and spas.
The gift card software can be seamlessly integrated into an existing Shortcuts Software system. It allows for a flexible system with a global component where the gift card can be bought at salon A and redeemed at salon B, as well as allowing clients to check their funds and top it up if they wish to.
Shortcuts Software said that the launch of GiftME comes as recent studies conducted by Woolworths found that the popularity of gift cards has increased by 50 per cent. The company said gift cards are not only able to attract business and build loyalty among customers but also increase sales volume.
When clients use a gift card they spend more than double the face value on the card, and 10 per cent of gift cards go unclaimed, which is pure profit for a business.
Shortcuts Software evolution manager Jo Burgess said gift cards are a powerful tool of the promotional mix for salons and spas.
“Gift cards are an important part of the promotional mix because not only can it be customised to your brand and logo but it’s also a powerful tool for promotion,” Mrs Joanna Burgess said.
“If a friend gives another friend your gift card, you have a word-of-mouth referral, which is the most powerful form of promotion, as we trust our friends more than advertising.”
