CBD is quickly becoming one of the world’s superstar beauty ingredients – despite consumer confusion about its benefits.
According to a new survey of 7000 beauty consumers in the US by the Benchmarking Company, CBD-based beauty products is becoming a mainstream success although “it is still not totally understood by consumers and misperceptions abound”.
The survey found that CBD-based beauty product usage increased by seven percent in the six months from February this year (18 percent) to this August (25 percent).

• Hemp/cannabis is a ‘good for you’ ingredient – 57 percent
• Safe for sensitive skin – 50 percent

• Positive product reviews – 43 percent
Non-users are curious
• 68 percent don’t currently use cannabis or CBD based products but are willing to try
• 45 percent of non-users are more willing to try CBD products now than a year ago.
