If you’ve ever considered a career in makeup, there’s no better time than now to see what the job is all about…
Which of the following best describes your relationship with makeup?
a) You’ve been playing with lipstick ever since you were old enough to raid your mum/sister/aunt’s makeup bag
b) When you think of the endless transformative possibilities of a simple contour powder, your head wants to explode
c) When someone says, ‘What’s a primer?’ you know you can’t be friends
d) All of the above.
If you answered d, you might just be obsessive enough about makeup to turn it into a profession. And this November, curious minds will have the opportunity to dip their toes in the colourful world of professional makeup and discover if a career is calling.
On November 1st, 8th and 29th, the Academy of Makeup will be holding open days for aspiring makeup artists, featuring makeup demonstrations, talks with trainers and tours of the campus facilities, giving guests an insight into all areas of the curriculum while attempting to whet their appetites for a career in makeup artistry.
“We highly encourage anyone wanting a career in the makeup industry to come along to one of our open days,” says Academy of Makeup national education and operations manager, Jess Chong.
“It will really assist you in ensuring you are enrolling into the right course, plus we love to meet new potential students and help them begin an exciting career into such an amazing industry!”
All experience levels are welcomed to join the day, running at three separate venues, specified below:
