Bid and bod, a site that auctions off last-minute salon, spa and clinic appointments, is giving back with an online auction in support of industry charity, Look Good Feel Better.
We love stories of beauty professionals doing good deeds, and this one is particularly sweet as the idea for the Love Your Mum charity auction came to Bidandbod founder, Paula Flinn, after she discovered her auntie Cheryl had been diagnosed with breast cancer.
“I know it is all too common but I guess I didn’t expect it to happen to somebody I am so close to,” says Paula.
Both Paula and Cheryl believe in the transformative powers of makeup and the ability of a bit of lipstick to give an instant confidence boost. “Cheryl and I have always felt that lipstick works like magic – pop a little on to cheer your spirit!” says Paula.
With this in mind, Paula wanted to do something to support the amazing work of Look Good Feel Better, which provides free workshops for people suffering with cancer on topics like skincare, makeup, wigs and head coverings.
The auction will be hosted online through Paula’s business www.bidandbod.com and anyone can get involved by bidding on pampering services donated by some of Melbourne and the Mornington Peninsula’s best day spas, hair salons, beauty clinics and wellness centres.
It will be held just in time for Mother’s Day, from 6-9pm on Tuesday 3 May, so park yourself on the couch, pour a glass of wine and get bidding!
