Aesthetics franchise, Australian Skin Clinics has launched The Advanced Skills Academy, a cutting-edge education facility based on the Gold Coast, which offers courses nationwide.
Medi-aesthetic franchise, Australian Skin Clinics, has undergone rapid expansion since its opening in 2011. With nineteen clinics operating across the country, the franchise business specialises in results-driven cosmetic treatments including laser hair removal, cosmetic injectables, microdermabrasion, acne and rosacea management, pigmentation, scarring and sun damage.
Now the company has created another arm to its business in the form of a registered training academy. The Advanced Skills Academy offers its students state-of-the-art technical equipment, highly skilled expert trainers, and access to an impressive range of courses.
Promising an end to boring classes, this new facility aims to align education and real world industry, allowing students to glean information from professionals who specialise in medi-aesthetics.
The Advanced Skills Academy offers interactive, hands-on courses in management, health, business, beauty and laser. Good client communication is always on the agenda and students will also get insight into skin response – a huge plus when talking about aesthetics.
Courses (many of which are nationally recognised qualifications) are, of course, available to those starting their career. But if you are looking to upskill rather than learn from scratch, this is also your go-to place for specialised training in advanced microdermabrasion, government approved laser safety, class IV laser training in hair removal, skin rejuvenation and superficial vascular treatments.
Courses are also available online, allowing remote access to both professionals and novices keen to gain skills in aesthetics and salon-related business – and even online, you can forget about traditional learning. Advanced Skills Academy General Manager, Sarah Lehmann, says the new academy leaves outdated methods behind in favour of concentrated, in-depth courses with industry leaders as mentors.
“The medi-aesthetic industry is so much more than skin deep,” says Lehmann. “It’s a thriving services industry that requires high-level skills and a suitably high-level learning environment. The Advanced Skills Academy offers concentrated courses, with highly experienced trainers in an exciting environment that is structured to replicate a clinic environment, rather than a training school.”
Australian Skin Clinics Managing Director, Deb Farnworth-Wood, adds that the new education arm was a natural progression for the franchise business. “Australian Skin Clinics has always prided itself on employing technicians who are highly skilled, professional and, above all, compliant with government regulations,” says Farnworth-Wood. “This high level of technician quality across the brand is largely due to the training department of Australian Skin Clinics, so we’re pleased to now be offering our courses externally through The Advanced Skills Academy.”
