During Earth Month this April, Aveda will donate a hundred per cent of the purchase price of its signature limited edition Light The Way Candles to WaterAid Australia.
Consumers are becoming more conscious than ever before, opting to invest in brands that invest back into the community, and savvy businesses are taking note.
This Earth Month, ethically-minded Aveda is pledging a hundred per cent of the profits of its Light The Way Candles to WaterAid Australia, a non-profit organisation focused on providing communities with access to safe, clean water, hygiene and sanitation.
It’s not the first time the altruistic company has put its money where its mouth is. The beauty brand already works with Global Greengrants and have raised $9 million since 2006 to help support organisations dedicated to clean water projects.
Last year in conjunction with WaterAid Australia, Aveda provided rural community, Timor-Leste with toilets for every household, reservoir water tanks, public tap stands and 3.7 kilometres of pipe to ensure ongoing clean, fresh water.
This year the plant-based skincare brand will use images created by children living in the region of Manakara, Madagascar, who’ve benefited from globally funded Earth Month water projects, on the cartons of its limited edition candles to support the cause.
The Light The Way Candles will launch on April 1st, in line with the start of Earth Month, and have been created in the brand’s signature eco-friendly style, including certified organic essential oils and naturally derived soy and plant waxes.
To date, WaterAid has supported 26 countries across Africa, Asia, Central America and the Pacific region to improve access to safe water, hygiene and sanitisation, reaching an estimated 21 million people.
