Dale Dorning is returning to Brisbane with his much-anticipated, week-long, Face Value Certificate II in Makeup.
The course will take place from Sept 23rd – 27th, 2013 and are hosted by Brisbane’s newest education destination, the Makeup & Glow Academy. Dale is an internationally acclaimed celebrity hair and makeup artist, and this course previously sold out very quickly.
In addition, Makeup & Glow Academy are introducing, by demand, part-time evening classes, taught by some of Brisbane’s top makeup artists, and certified trainers, Zoe Tranter and Kate Fide.
Spread out over Tuesday and Wednesday evenings from 6.30pm to 9.30pm, for five weeks, starting Tuesday 24th September and completing Wednesday 23rd October, this part-time class will include the same 30 hours hands-on experience taught in the week-long intensive, nationally certified and accredited course.
Both the week-long intensive, taught by Dale, and the part-time evening classes, taught by Zoe and Kate, are directed to those already in or looking to enter the makeup industry.
“The courses will deliver all the key aspects of makeup artistry,” says Dale. “We’ve designed the Face Value Certificate II in Makeup course for those who really want to jump-start their career in makeup, giving it an industry twist to demonstrate the Certificate II can be achievable in a week, with assignment work completed remotely.
“I’m imparting my knowledge and personal expertise on the students, coupled with an emphasis on intense, practical makeup experience, in an effort to encourage each student’s artistic license, and the creation of their own ‘signature’ style.”
All participants will walk away with the following subjects guaranteed to inspire and stimulate aspiring makeup artists:
• Facial Anatomy
• Signature Skin
• Remedial Camouflage
• A Darker Shade of Pale: makeup for women of the world
• Conversion Makeup: taking balanced to brilliant
• Highlight & Shading: techniques for lighting mediums
• Lashes: single, flairs & strip application
• Male Grooming
• Fashion / Editorial Makeup
• Industry ‘Speak’ to build brand-YOU
From TV royalty to pop royalty, Dale’s ‘effortless glamour’ signature style has graced some of the world’s most beautiful faces, including Crown Princess Mary, Miranda Kerr, Mel B., Delta Goodrem, Rosario Dawson, Ruby Rose, Natalie Bassingthwaite, Megan Gale, Ricki-Lee Coulter, Sophie Monk, Teresa Palmer and Jennifer Hawkins.
“After being Delta’s makeup artist, and working internationally, it was a natural progression for me to come back to the classroom and share my knowledge, experience and expertise, with these next generation makeup artists,” he says. “From working my sell-out master classes, I have seen there’s demand and need for progressive, in-depth and ‘real’ makeup education. My working world is not just about celebrities, it’s also about the every day – weddings, photo and video shoots, fashion parades – which is why I am passionate about giving students the practical experience they need to begin their careers with a great foundation.”
