Billed as one of Australia’s most popular beauty apps, Glamazon is revolutionising the way your customers book appointments. All they need to do is type in what treatment they want, click ‘Go’ and a therapist will be waiting on the threshold of their home, office or hotel room in no time at all.
A massage, manicure, facial, spray tan, blow dry – you name it, Glamazon has it. Essentially UBER for the beauty industry, Glamazon is a collaboration between swimwear label owner Lisa Maree and beauty industry entrepreneur Lauren Silvers.
The duo’s winning combination has already enticed over 10,000 users to sign up – and that number is growing by the minute. We sat down with Founder Lisa to talk booking apps, time-strapped customers and partnerships.
What is Glamazon?
Glamazon is Australia’s first real time marketplace for beauty appointments. Book a mobile beauty professional to you or be glammed at your favourite salon.
What’s the story behind Glamazon?
Glamazon is the culmination of Glam Crew, a business launched by myself in June 2016 to offer at home beauty services, and Glamazon, Lauren Silvers’ salon booking App which she launched in 2014.
Together, Lauren and I have created a product that appeals to all beauty consumers. Whether you prefer the salon experience or being beautified in the comfort of your own home, Glamazon has revolutionized the way you book beauty.
What background do you and Lauren have in the beauty industry?Lauren Silvers, is a former beauty and fashion publicist who executed large scale PR and marketing campaigns for international fashion and beauty brands, in both Sydney and New York City.
Lauren’s experience and knowledge in the industry amplified the necessity to have instant access to beauty service providers. Lauren developed Glamazon from her own frustrations in trying to connect with her favourite salons.
Lauren’s fast-paced on-the-go lifestyle and constant desire to look polished for her job became the catalyst to starting Glamazon, disrupting the beauty industry and displacing slow and manual booking methods.
I’m a global entrepreneur and founder of multimillion dollar international fashion label, Lisa Maree. I launched the label in 2009 and now sells to stores across the world including luxury E-tailer Net-a-Porter, Nordstrom, Harvey Nichols, Bloomingdales and Selfridges amongst a list of premium department stores, online stores and boutiques internationally.
Currently stocked in over 12 countries, the brand continues to grow in brilliant divergence and diversity, maintaining the energy and grace that is the heart of the brand.
The line is worn by celebrities such as Jennifer Lopez, Rihanna and Kate Upton to name a few. Lisa has a natural creative flair, a love for fashion and a strong network of contacts within the fashion and beauty industries.
Why should consumers sign up to Glamazon?
Glamazon takes the hassle out of booking beauty by eliminating the need to ring around to find available appointments or researching quality service providers.
Glamazon offers quality assured salons and freelance stylists in one place, so customers have access to a trusted beauty network.
Why should businesses partner with Glamazon?
Today in Australia there are over 22,000 salons showing vacant appointments everyday without any easy way to fill them and over 29,000 stylists looking for regular work.
In a $5 billion market, salons still have inefficient booking processes, and stylists want work but don’t have access to customers. In 2017, more than ever, customers expect instant access and time-saving convenience.
Glamazon fills this gap in the market to ensure customers can conveniently and instantly connect with salons and stylists, generating more revenue and customer leads .
What’s the process for becoming a partner?
For freelance stylists, the process involves downloading the free Glamazon Stylist app and registering their details and portfolio here. Salons can apply to be a partner via our website, www.glamazonapp.com
What makes Glamazon different to similar products?
Glamazon is the only national booking platform that offers both mobile beauty professionals and salon bookings.
What are the short and long term goals for Glamazon?
Our short term goals are to continue to nurture our customers and provide the best experience by constantly evolving our technology and product. Our long-term goals are global-focused and we are really excited at some of the opportunities we are pursuing in other markets.
