Salon cosmetics brand, Gorgeous Cosmetics CEO David McConnell has sealed a dream deal with makeup retail giant Sephora, who have officially welcomed the award-winning makeup artist’s brand to their Sydney store.
When it comes to makeup, it doesn’t get much bigger than this.
Salon brand Gorgeous Cosmetics have scored a prized position in cosmetics retail giant Sephora’s newly opened Sydney store.
“It’s a privilege for Gorgeous Cosmetics to be selected to join one of the world’s leading beauty retailers,” said Gorgeous Cosmetics founder and CEO, David McConnell, who’s confident the move will strengthen the brand’s pulling power in its existing salon retailers.
“We’re already receiving positive feedback from our salon owners on this exciting milestone. Enriching the Gorgeous brand culture, moving into Sephora, will have a lasting positive effect on local retailers. The increased brand awareness we’re seeing, both in Australia and globally, is swiftly shaping Gorgeous Cosmetics into a callout brand — backed with a legacy of old and new loyalists driving demand.”
An award-winning makeup artist himself, McConnell started Gorgeous Cosmetics in 1999 at with the goal to create a makeup brand completely unique to the Australian market. The colour cosmetics line has earned acclaim for their Oil-Free Base Perfect Liquid Foundation, which McConnell says is prepared to stand up to any import brand.
We’re already receiving positive feedback from our salon owners on this exciting milestone.
“I realized early on that what we were offering was the best of the best, and Australia has nothing like Gorgeous on the market. I truly believe the moment a person swatches a triple-milled powder or feels and sees our foundation on their skin, it’s a beauty game-changer. That’s why we’ve retained loyal customers for nearly two decades.”
And McConnel says its this quality that’s seen the brand go from a single store retailer in Melbourne to the center of the global stage, with retailers reaching from Malibu to Malta, Berlin to Dubai.
“While we’ve evolved and some things about our business have changed, our primary values remain the same. Excellence in education and a mission to deliver superior quality performance-products will always be the DNA of Gorgeous.”
It’s DNA like this that’s stamped it’s position in one of the world’s leading cosmetic retail giants and garnered its iconic Glamalash Volumising Mascara product the prestigious name of being a ‘Sephora Favourite’, two words most cosmetic brands dream of hearing in the same sentence as their product name.
“I think that Gorgeous’ world record-breaking sales the opening weekend at Sephora Australia are a pretty good indiction of what’s to come. We’re here to stay and I’m quite optimistic of our continued expansion bearing the new collection we’re unveiling in 2015.”
