Heddy Macaulay was honoured as one of Australia’s leading ‘edupeneurs’ at a recent ceremony in Perth.
The College of Natural Beauty’s leader Heddy Macaulay has joined a select group of acclaimed industry leading educators, being announced a 2015 Edupreneur Award winner for her achievements in using education as a tool to serve the beauty industry.
Macaulay was one of a handful of ‘edupreneurs’ (that’s, education-focused entrepreneurs) honoured at the awards night in Perth, and was commended on her track record at using educational tools to capture a niche market – arming the next wave of beauty therapists with the holistic edge necessary to cater to the growing consumer demand for sustainable products and services.
Founder of the inaugural 2015 Edupreneur Awards and CEO of MainTraining, Sarah Cordiner praised Macaulay for leading the way in her field, using education to contribute to her industry’s body of knowledge.
“Our winners have all built profitable businesses not just around their bottom line but through contributing to the knowledge, skills and capabilities of their marketplace. They are committed to expanding on their own expertise and finding a powerful way to share that with others in a way that also increases their exposure, sales ability and thought leadership positioning.”
CEO of Endeavour Learning Group, Carolyn Barker also commended Macaulay for her win, adding it was a pleasing acknowledgement of the College of Natural Beauty’s commitment to arm the industry’s future beauty leaders and practitioners with the knowledge and experience needed to lead successful careers at home and overseas.
“Heddy has been instrumental in developing the College of Natural Beauty’s educational approach and it is wonderful to see her genuine love for teaching and passion for the beauty industry acknowledged,” Barker emphasised.
“Heddy has consistently applied an entrepreneurial mindset to her role, carving out time to educate consumers about the merits of a natural approach to beauty. Heddy has not only shared her own knowledge, she has brought together the beauty industry’s leaders to deliver an extremely popular series of free public presentations, blog articles, webinars, ‘how to’ videos, workshops and industry forums, all of which have helped cement our position in the market.”
The Edupreneur Awards were created to celebrate businesses and entrepreneurs using education in innovative and effective ways to grow their businesses and service their industries.
