In December last year Allergan, in partnership with Lonergan Research conducted a survey on anti-wrinkle injectables with almost 8000 Australian women.
The majority of participants were women over 18 years of age and out of the research sample, 307 have had injectables in the past. The survey results highlight the lack of client education within our industry and why doctors and nurses need to reconsider their client consultations before heading straight in to the treatment room.
Some of the key findings from this survey include:

- 70% agreed they would not skimp on price for their anti-wrinkle injections
- 80% of anti-wrinkle injection users believed that anti-wrinkle injections were better value for money than anti-ageing creams and moisturisers
- 46% thought they had spent more on anti-ageing creams and moisturisers than they had on anti-wrinkle injections over the course of a year
Communicating with the health professional:
- 42% did not ask about the name of the treatment they were getting from their health practitioner
- 27% did not ask if the treatment is approved for use in the areas they are having treated
- 22% did not ask whether the treatment has a proven safety record
- 21% did not ask what the treatment options are
Out of those who have had anti-wrinkle injections in the past, at their last treatment:
