If you’re a beauty therapist, salon or spa owner and you haven’t heard about it yet, chances are you’ve been living in a cave. Luckily we’ve got the scoop…
Incorporating over 250 industry brands, 18 education sessions, 20 shows, dedicated zones and even an appearance by Gina Liano from The Real Housewives of Melbourne, this year’s Salon Melbourne/Hair Melbourne line-up is pulling out all the stops, and as official media partner for the event, Professional Beauty has the down low on exactly what to expect when it all kicks off next month…
On stage
For expert tips, tricks, trends and inspiration, participants can head to the main stage to see some of the biggest industry names, including brow extraordinaire, Jazz Pampling; hair maestros, Lorna Evans and Caterina DiBiase; American makeup guru, Donna Mee and everyone’s favourite make-up maestro, Rae Morris.
For a taste of the next generation of hair, makeup and beauty talent, head over to the launchpad stage – or to tap into the world of medi – and make a stop at the popular medi-stage to witness a diverse range of innovative treatments first hand.
And in a Salon Melbourne/Hair Melbourne first, event visitors will be able to see Australia’s top hair stylists work alongside emerging fashion designers and makeup artists as the HBIA host its Definition of Fashion competition live on stage.
Education
With education high on the agenda for 2015, this year’s show is upping the ante with a diverse selection of creative, practical, strategic and business education sessions. Providing access to hair, beauty, medi and business experts, the expo will offer a chance to get up close and personal with names like X-Factor Makeup Director Martin Bray; TONI&GUY; Caroline Nelson; Simone Lee; Gay Wardle; social media professional, Tiger Pistol; and international beauty expert Donna Mee.
Inspiration
This year’s Salon Melbourne/Hair Melbourne will see the introduction of a 90-minute inspirational session, The Transformation Series. Run by Julie Piantadosi, this session will invite a panel of speakers to motivate and inspire.
