Mirenesse Cosmetics has launched an appeal to help those affected by the Victorian bushfires. The company has donated a “fundraiser kit”, comprising a full size Secret Weapon Mascara and a Velvet Lip Lift Moisture Shine, valued at $65, for $10; with all proceeds going to the Australian Red Cross Bushfire Appeal.
Director and Co-Founder of Mirenesse Cosmetics, Irene Patsalides, said she felt compelled to help her fellow Australians as she was so shocked and saddened by the devastation and loss caused by the bushfires.
“It especially hit close to home, as we are a small Australian company based in Victoria, and in this time of need we knew we had to help as much as possible,” she said. “Personally, as a survivor of Cyclone Tracy, I know the pain of losing everything and having to rebuild from nothing. Knowing I had the ability to help others, I started the appeal to give back to the Australian community that has been so kind to us.”
Patsalides said she donated the mascara and lip product because they are their most popular products and she hoped to raise as much money as possible.
The company initially donated 500 kits, which sold out within two hours, and due to the overwhelming response they have donated 2000 kits and hope to raise $20,000.
“The generosity of the Australian spirit has amazed us,” Patsalides said.
