According to the latest data, waxing professionals should expect to see their male clientele numbers continue to grow, as more men feel the pressure to go hair free.
Ask the average bloke what his beauty routine is and he’ll laugh you out of the room.
But while few will admit it, men are quickly catching up to women in terms of the amount of time and money they spend on their appearances.
Hair removal in particular, has seen rapid growth (pun intended) in the past decade, with a recent report from analyst firm, Mintel, showing record numbers of guys now feel the pressure to remove body hair, with a whopping 70 per cent of men going hair free in the last twelve months.
Even more surprisingly, the UK study found that 29 per cent of men had removed pubic hair in the same period, with a further 13 per cent doing away with chest hair and 12 per cent going underarm hair free.
And as it becomes increasingly acceptable for blokes to admit they spend just as much time on their appearances as their female counterparts, male grooming product and service sales are expected to continue to boom.
…But as Steve Carell demonstrates in The 40 Year Old Virgin, it doesn’t stop them from being giant babies about it.
