SpaQ Port Douglas launched in late March and has since given a new twist to the designer spa concept.
Port Douglas, in North Queensland, joins Sydney and Gold Coast in extending the SpaQ brand that believes in this philosophy – “like your mind, your body isn’t static”. The spa, situated in the chic beachside resort encourages guests to select treatments according to the groove of the individual.
The interior of the spa takes inspiration from the beach culture that surrounds it. The spaQ Port Douglas features a colourful and quirky personality in muted pastel hues and beach-themed décor. Snug sheepskin rugs adorn the relaxation lounge chairs and the team are dressed in bright bamboo-print uniforms. The relaxing atmosphere is complemented by an exclusive spaQ blend of La Gaia teas served in mismatched cups.
The spa features five treatment rooms with one especially tailored to couples. Facilities include a reception and retail area, male and female change rooms and a relaxation lounge. The treatment menu boasts of four different massages, a range of facials, body treatments, creative 30-min add-on treatments, organic sunless tanning and four ‘signature’ packages.
“The look of the spa is definitely light-hearted and fun, and so it was very important to fill the space with a quality guest experience delivered in a fresh way,” said Naomi Gregory from spaQ Development & Operations.
The team behind spaQ Port Douglas have gone into great detail to provide an experience that matches the interior. “We played up the designer concept by including an accessories section on the menu and introduced a consultative and personalised approach,” Naomi said.
SpaQ is a part of QT Hotels and Resorts. Owned by AHL, the QT group seeks to deliver an eclectic design experience teamed with entertainment offerings and unsurpassable service for corporate and leisure travelers.
