With a recent survey by the Mentor Walks organisation revealing that a large number of women – including salon owners – have felt social disconnection due to COVID-19, and a third saying it negatively affected their ability to build networks, Mentor Walks have pressed on with both physical and virtual ‘walks’ for women.
With mentors including Adore Beauty founder Kate Morris, Red Balloon founder and Shark Tank star Naomi Simson, and Beginning Boutique Sarah Timmerman.
“Succeeding in our careers doesn’t just happen. All of us need advice, help and networks to get clarity and opportunities,” says Mentor Walks co-founder and Chair of Mahlab agency, Bobbi Mahlab. “As entrepreneurs and businesswomen, we know that finding wise people to guide you isn’t easy, so we started Mentor Walks to make it easier to find support and networks that will help you. We also know the research – that mentoring is a key contributor to career success; that walking and talking comes easily to most women; and that exercise helps us think creatively and clearly!”
With tickets costing $25, you get an hour of access to a highly sought-after mentor, their advice, and a sounding board for your ideas.
Walks take place in all major cities – the next Sydney walk is scheduled to take place on November 27, while Melbourne has their next walk – a virtual version – on November 6.
