2011 was a busy year and as it wrapped up, many of us were feeling the strains from work, social engagements and deadlines. Often this leads to poor nutritional choices, decreased physical activity and a lack of quality rest or sleep. As our nervous system is pushed to the max, we gain weight and put a strain on our immune system that can lead to obesity, arthritis, digestive issues, high blood pressure, diabetes, and possible heart or stroke issues.
But 2011 is so last year! It’s time to take that tired, worn out system and give it an injection of new vitality and a positive mental attitude to start 2012.
How do we do that?
1. Flush out the accumulated junk (toxins & acidity) with a detox and cleanse.
2. Rest the whole body, bringing the focus back to ourselves. A rested mind and body will help you evaluate where you really need to be heading in 2012.
3. Then and only then, start to put in quality nutrition in your diet. Aim for an abundance of balanced vegetables, fruits and vegetable proteins, complex carbohydrates and fresh juice and water.
4. Have fun with exercise. Try something different such as Tai chi, yoga, swimming, or even a new gym.
5. Pamper yourself with a lymph massage, reflexology or a body wrap. Try Hopewood Health Retreat’s Waterlily Organic Honey and Cocoa Body Wrap Treatment for a full body rehydration that delights the senses.
6. Make time for resting, meditation or reading.
7. Enjoy your own quiet time in nature and go for a bushwalk.
By following these 7 simple steps, you have cleansed all systems and restocked your cells with the best quality raw materials to revitalise the metabolism. Your nervous system should be relaxed and calm, and your focus as clear as your direction. Your blood flow and cells will be much more alkaline, reducing any inflammation and acid in the joints and cells, and therefore allowing greater mobility, lymph flow and higher immunity.
Give yourself a great start to the New Year by focusing on yourself and your health now!
