On Monday, industry peers of Candela visited the company’s Artarmon, NSW offices for an educational open day.
The day provided an opportunity for the industry to experience Candela’s portfolio of award-winning technologies first-hand.
Candela offered treatments to guests to demonstrate the capabilities of their GentleMax Pro Plus, PicoWay, FraxPro, Nodlys, and VbeanPerfecta devices.
Associate Manager, Marketing Communications ANZ for Candela, India Moore said the goal of the day was to allow beauty experts the chance to learn about the technologies, as well as how to connect the dots between technology use and skincare. Guests would then better understand how some skincare products can serve as contraindications with some technologies.
Candela’s recently launched Nordlys device was a key focus, with its point of difference being that it utilises narrowband technology to treat 22 indications.
Professional Beauty Editor Anita Quade trialed the Candela PicoWay system to treat some facial pigment. On the experience, Anita said: “I loved road testing one of the most popular treatments from Candela – PicoWay – which offers clients a chance to efficiently spot treat areas of the skin. It’s especially effective for sunspots and skin pigmentation.
The therapist uses a selection of wavelengths and pulse durations to destroy the pigment. The treatment is super fast with minimal pain and also no downtime, although skin might feel hot for a couple of hours and it’s recommended not to wear makeup immediately afterwards but keep up with the SPF 50. The pigment spots darken over the next few days and fall off to reveal brighter skin – genius!
Depending on the severity of the pigment more than one session could be recommended. This treatment can also be used for acne scars and wrinkles and offers a collagen boost that can take up to 12 weeks to rejuvenate the skin. It’s the ideal treatment to freshen up your skin after summer.”
Open days specially marked for industry peers run quarterly by invitation only. For customers interested in the business, open days occur more regularly across Australia.
