The newly formed Aesthetics and Beauty Industry Council has raised $30,000 through its GoFundMe Campaign and has been able to create 300 $100 vouchers to give away to any VIC beauty industry professional in need of essentials and food supplies.
Melbourne’s latest lockdown is the first without the support of JobKeeper and has been catastrophic for some in the industry, like this salon manager interviewed by the ABC.
The ABIC says “We have heard the voices of so many therapists and aesthetic businesses call out for support throughout this latest extended Covid lockdown. All of our Victorian aesthetic business have been shut down, and with little or no income the reality is that so many are in the same boat, struggling to purchase essential supplies, food or groceries.”
To qualify for one of the 300 $100 Coles vouchers available, you must:
- Have a qualification in the beauty or aesthetic field
- Be currently living in Melbourne
- Be truly in need, have suffered a significant loss of income due to the length Melbourne lockdowns, as vouchers are limited
The applications are anonymous and all information in the applications forms will remain confidential, says the ABIC, and will not be sued for any other reason that to qualify that the applicant meets the criteria.
The application form is available here.
Call 1800 MY ABIC (1800 692 242) during business hours so we are able to qualify you over the phone if you are unable to complete the application online.
